In this workshop, you will gain an initial understanding of:
This retreat is targeted at the student that seeks the answers to why they do yoga and for that reason you do not need to be at any particular level to attend. Yoga is an enquiry for the individual when taught through the true philosophies. Too often and today currently, yoga has become fashionable stretching promoting relaxation but what is the individual students goal? And for that matter what is relaxing? Our yoga practice needs to take into account what we are setting out to achieve. Not what we think others would expect of yoga and what they would expect to do in Yoga. Yogic science is not yoga as we know it in the western world, It is life itself and it contains all the necessary mind and body movements to treat all ailments and all specific intentions. This workshop is open to student of all levels. |

MELINDA ATHERTONHOST
Melinda is a Certified Hatha Yoga Instructor and also a dedicated student of Iyengar yoga. Melinda came from a background in Science and obtained her PhD in Astronomy in 1998. She was institutionalized by choice for a further 8 years working as a research associate at the Univeristy of NSW. During this time she ran her own electronic music label, distribution company and toured internationally. Throughout this time she conducted her own practical research into entheogenic plants and their effects. In 2006, she decided that that was enough externalization of thought and moved from Sydney (Australia) to a quiet town in the Snowy Mountains and became a School Bus driver. The true lessons of life were learnt outside of society from here. Now disengaged from the machine and with the love and support of her eternal soul mate - the real research could begin., She uses her scientific methods and all that she affectionately learnt while contained within the system to apply to her inward study of the self. One thing that Astrophysics has taught is that the focus should never be outwards into an unknown universe but simply towards the creation of the self. Which could in fact be termed the "Big Bang" ? |
