Your Private Yoga Retreat

Date: Choose you own
Duration: 5 days, 4 nights
Cost: $1400 USD for one person
Max Participants 1.

Yoga is defined as a process of binding. Therefore it is a process of physical and mental bridging and  to impart this knowledge accurately, the students physical position needs to be one in direct physical relationship with the teacher.

Yoga occurs and therefore you become where the  physical is unified with the non physical. Once we are aligned, we share our alignment with others. Whilst on-line learning has become a method of convenient practice, it also represents a step further removed from a natural physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual interaction between the student and teacher. We have magnetic fields. Our language is not just ,mere sounds generating syllables, it has a sonic resonance. The teacher being able to see the student brings accurate alignment and understanding to the practitioner so they can begin the mind and body bridging process.

Yoga is humanity and in a world fast trending towards artificial experience we feel it is imperative that individuals have the opportunity to maintain the physical tactile association with their own bodies and others. based on our deep philosophical values and our dedication to yogic science we are prepared to gift an individual with individualized attention at the price of a group retreat. This is to demonstrate the non-material interaction that is required between student and teacher for developing understanding of what yoga was always intended  to be. Undivided intention in wholeness through perseverance of observation. In our time today, there exists no better time to become stronger as an individual so that people can once again be together - welcome to your retreat.

LOCATION and ACCOMMODATION
This retreat will be held at Ikara Retreat Centre. Ikara is located high in the hills above the small town of Portalon. It is a boutique retreat centre that is quiet and secluded. Situated outside of an authentic Tico village, a true Costa Rican experience awaits.

Our retreat centre has a purpose built yoga deck overlooking the ocean. A pool to cool off in and manicured gardens to explore. Growing on the property we have bananas, aguacate (avocados), pipas (coconuts), jengibre (ginger), mazana (apples) and more.

The centre is quiet and as a result we have  regular animal visitors to the property. Everyday we see colibri (hummingbirds), tolomuco (tayra), pezote (white nosed coati), mariposas (butterflys) and a wealth  of frogs, amphibians, monkeys and lizards. There are sloths and wild cats (ocelot, jaguar, puma and margay) but they are all elusive.

MELINDA ATHERTON

HOST

Melinda is a Certified Hatha Yoga Instructor and also a dedicated student of Iyengar yoga. Melinda came from a background in Science and obtained her PhD in Astronomy in 1998. She was institutionalized by choice for a further 8 years working as a research associate at the Univeristy of NSW. During this time she ran her own electronic music label, distribution company and toured internationally. Throughout this time she conducted her own practical research into entheogenic plants and their effects. In 2006, she decided that that was enough externalization of thought and moved from Sydney (Australia) to a quiet town in the Snowy Mountains and became a School Bus driver. The true lessons of life were learnt outside of society from here. Now disengaged from the machine and with the love and support of her eternal soul mate - the real research could begin.,

She uses her scientific methods and all that she affectionately learnt while contained within the system to apply to her inward study of the self. One thing that Astrophysics has taught is that the focus should never be outwards into an unknown universe but simply towards the creation of the self. Which could in fact be termed the "Big Bang"  ?
